How Atrato got its name

How the Atrato name came to be, as featured in an article by React News.

We love a creative project name, and some go on to become the foundation for more than just a single transaction.

Take our very own Steve Windsor and Ben Green, founders of Atrato. Ben and Steve were instrumental in a series of Tesco sale-and-leaseback transactions while at Goldman Sachs.

Each of the five deals had a water related name, which cryptically referenced the deal number. Some examples were Sarum, Passaic, Dorney, and most importantly, Atrato.

The Atrato deal was named after a fast-flowing river in Colombia, because the deal in question needed to be done really fast. This inspired our name, Atrato, when it was founded to launch Supermarket Income REIT.
